Using Wx Perl with PDK on MSWin32 | ||||||

You need Wx::Perl::Packager and Wx Perl >= 0.49 to use the examples on this page. The Wx::Perl::Packager package provides you with the script wxpdk which creates a .perlapp file with the necessary wxWidgets DLLs already bound. PerlTray Because PerlTray has its own 'event loop' (or equivalent), packaging with Wx Perl can be frustrating. This example provides working code for the majority of PerlTray's callbacks and functions integrated with a Wx Perl application. Note: In the example events get passed with 'text' identifiers which is kind of ugly at first reading but does allow you flexibility in defining PopUpMenu items on the fly and handling responses. (That's my excuse anyway.)
